Why the Name of Rama is the Greatest Treasure of All
लंक बिभीषन राज कपि पति मारुति खग मीच।
लही राम सों नाम रति चाहत तुलसी नीच॥

गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी कहते हैं कि प्रभु ने विभीषण को लंका का राज्य दिया, सुग्रीव को वानरों का राजा बनाया, हनुमान जी को अमर सेवा दी और जटायु को मोक्ष। पर तुलसीदास इन सब से ऊपर 'नाम रति' यानी राम-नाम से अनन्य प्रेम की याचना करते हैं।
English Commentary
Tulsidas observes that while Rama gifted kingdoms, status, and even liberation to others, the highest boon is "Naam Rati"—the ecstatic love for the Divine Name. For a devotee, the joy of chanting is greater than the power of a king.
Deeper Insight: The Devotee's Greed
In the Bhakti tradition, a devotee is considered "greedy" not for things, but for Anuraga (deep affection). Tulsidas teaches us that worldly achievements like "Lanka" (wealth) or "Raj" (status) are external, but the love for the Name is an internal treasure that purifies the soul from within.
